Anocovax: India launches its first COVID-19 vaccine for animals
On June 9, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched Anocovax, India’s first homegrown COVID-19 vaccine for animals, produced by the ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines (NRCE) in Haryana. The vaccine uses Alhydrogel as an adjuvant and contains inactivated SARS-CoV-2 (Delta) antigen. It is also safe for dogs, lions, leopards, mice, and bunnies, according to the company.

  • Anocovax is a SARS-CoV-2 Delta (COVID-19) vaccine for animals that is inactivated. According to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the immunity elicited by Anocovax neutralises both the Delta and Omicron versions of SARS-CoV-2.

Nirmala Sitharaman launches EASE 5.0 ‘Common reforms agenda’ for PSBs
EASE 5.0 ‘Common reforms agenda’ of EASENext program has been developed for Public Sector Banks and was launched through video-conferencing by the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi.

  • Under EASE 5.0, PSBs will continue to invest in new-age capabilities and deepen the ongoing reforms to respond to evolving customer needs, changing competition and the technology environment. EASE 5.0 will focus on digital customer experience, and integrated & inclusive banking, with emphasis on supporting small businesses and agriculture.

RBI cancels licence of Mudhol Co-op Bank, Bagalkot, Karnataka
The Reserve Bank has cancelled the licence of The Mudhol Co-operative Bank Limited, Bagalkot (Karnataka), thus restricting it from repayment of deposits and acceptance of fresh funds. The bank does not have adequate capital and earning prospects, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said while announcing the cancellation of licence.

ICICI Bank partners with ZestMoney to expand ‘Cardless EMI’ facility
ICICI Bank announced that it has partnered with digital EMI/pay-later platform ZestMoney, to expand its ‘Cardless EMI’ facility for purchases on retail and e-commerce platforms.

  • With this partnership, the bank’s customers can use pre-approved cardless credit to instantly buy products/ services using ZestMoney and pay in equated monthly installments (EMIs).
  • Customers can convert transactions up to Rs10 lakh into EMIs by entering their registered mobile number, PAN and OTP (received on registered mobile number) at the check-out of the e-commerce website/app or at the PoS machine in retail outlets, without using cards.

Founder member of RSS cultural wing ‘Sanskar Bharati’ Baba Yogendra passes away
Baba Yogendra, founder member of Sanskar Bharati, cultural wing of RSS passed away in Lucknow. Baba Yogendra was 98. Born in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, Baba Yogendra came into touch with Nanaji Deshmukh and became Pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
