मोदी कैबिनेट ने मुस्लिम महिला (विवाह अधिकारों का संरक्षण) बिल, 2017 को मंजूरी दे दी है। इसके जरिए जुबानी, लिखित या किसी इलेक्ट्रॉनिक तरीके से एकसाथ तीन तलाक (तलाक-ए-बिद्दत) को गैरकानूनी बनाया जाएगा। संसद के दोनों सदनों से पास होने के बाद यह कानून बन जाएगा।

मिजोरम में ऐजोल में 60 मेगावाट के तुइरियल पनबिजली परियोजना का उद्घाटन प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने किया। उन्होंने कहा कि मिजोम में यह पहली बड़ी जल विद्युत परियोजना है, जिससे राज्य के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
उपराष्ट्रपति ने वेदों पर विश्व सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन किया
भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति, एम। वेंकैया नायडू ने “विश्व वेद संमेलन” पर वेदों पर विश्व सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन नई दिल्ली में किया। उन्होंने कहा, यजुर्वेद का उल्लेख है कि वेदों का ज्ञान संपूर्ण मानवता के कल्याण के लिए है। वेद किसी जाति या समुदाय का उल्लेख नहीं करते हैं।
