PM announces Rs 90,000 cr for improving roads, highways in NE

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 90,000 crore for improving roads and national highways in the Northeast in the next two to three years to facilitate better connectivity.

Samsung India has entered into a partnership with UNESCO MGIEP (Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development) to launch 360 video and virtual reality (VR) content of two magnificent Indian heritage sites, the Sun Temple in Konark, Odisha and Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The project will provide experiential educational content to students across the country.

Switzerland unveils world’s steepest funicular railway

Switzerland unveiled  the 52 million-Swiss franc ($52.6 million) project running from Schywz to the mountain village of Stoos. The steepest funicular railway lies 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) above sea level in central Switzerland.

I&B ministry approves merger of Dish TV and Videocon d2h

Direct-to-home (DTH) operator Dish TV India Ltd has announced that that the company has received the final approval from the government for closing its merger with Videocon d2h, the DTH arm of Videocon Industries Ltd. The new entity will be called Dish TV Videocon Limited.

Sushil Kumar clinches gold medal at Commonwealth Wrestling C’ships

Double Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar has clinched a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in 74kg freestyle category in South Africa.

PV Sindhu settles for silver at Dubai World Badminton Superseries Finals

World No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi of Japan won the women’s singles title in Dubai World Badminton Superseries defeating top Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, who had to then settle for silver.
