Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the National Media Faculty Development Centre at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in New Delhi.

India’s first industrial solar microgrid commissioned in Gujarat

Swedish-Swiss multinational giant ABB has commissioned India’s first industrial solar microgrid at its Vadodara manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The Vadodara factory is ABB’s largest facility in India.

DAC Approves Capital Acquisition Proposals Worth Rs 3,687 Crore

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by the Raksha Mantri Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, accorded approval to Capital Acquisition Proposals of the Services valued at over Rs 3,687 crore.

In a boost to indigenisation and in realisation of India’s growing technological prowess, the DAC approved procurement of Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO’s) designed and developed NAG Missile System (NAMIS) at the cost of Rs 524 crore.

Fitch retains India’s sovereign rating at ‘BBB-‘ with ‘stable’ outlook

Global credit rating agency Fitch on Friday affirmed India’s sovereign rating at ‘BBB-‘ with ‘stable’ outlook, saying that the country’s medium-term growth potential is strong. ‘BBB-‘ rating indicates lowest investment grade.

It projected India’s growth at 7.3 per cent in current the fiscal and further to 7.5 per cent in 2019-20.

Gujarati poet, playwright and academic Sitanshu Yashaschandra has been selected for the 2017 Saraswati Samman for his collection of verses titled Vakhar.

BCCI to honour Diana Edulji with CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award

A three-man BCCI panel has recommended former India women’s team captain and current CoA member, Diana Edulji, for the prestigious CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.

Along with Edulji, former India openerl late Pankaj Roy will also be awarded posthumously.

Budgam district shortlisted for PM Modi’s excellence award

Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district has been shortlisted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s excellence award for promoting digital payments and cashless economy.

Under the supervision of District authorities, digital payments facility has been installed at 670 places across the district so far.
