India remains fastest-growing large economy, beating China: EIU

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the research and analysis division of The Economist Group in its global economic outlook in December said that India continues to be the fastest-growing large economy beating China.

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana comes into effect today

The latest scheme goes by the name Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKDS) 2016 that is open from December 17, 2016 to March 31, 2017.

GST can be rolled out anytime between April 1 – Sept 16, 2017

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) can be implemented anytime between April 1 and September 16, 2017, in accordance with the constitutional amendment legislation that allows a national sales tax by subsuming central and state levies.

Govt to launch Rs 40 crore drinking water project

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said that the Union Environment Ministry has approved a Rs 40 crore drinking water proposal by Puducherry government by treating water from Ousteri lake and supplying it to meet requirements in Puducherry and Oulgaret Municipal limits.
