SBI Funds first in country to cross Rs 20,000-crore AUM in ETFs

SBI Funds Management (SBIFM) today said it has become the country’s first asset manager to cross Rs 20,000 crore of AUM in exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The company began the ETF journey with the launch of SBI-ETF Gold (earlier known as SBI GETS) in 2009. Since then, it has developed a diversified stable of ETF offerings across asset classes.

Telangana Govt signs MoU with NABARD for Rs 874 crore loan

The Telangana Government signed an MoU with NABARD here for a loan of Rs 874 crore to the Horticulture Development Corporation to cover 3.15 lakh acres under Micro Irrigation scheme for 2016-17 and 2017-18.

SIDBI, Vijaya Bank combine to provide concessional loans to micro, small units

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vijaya Bank for providing concessional finance to micro and small enterprises (MSEs).

The microfinance and financial inclusion space, Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd (BFIL) has become first in the country to launch Aadhaar-based instant, cashless loan disbursal

  • BFIL has commenced its national roll-out of the process, extending loans to members of joint liability groups here, about 60 km from Jaipur.

India’s GDP projected to slow to 6.6% post-demonetisation: IMF

India’s growth is projected to slow to 6.6 per cent in 2016-17 fiscal due to the strains that have emerged in the economy as a result of “temporary disruptions” caused by demonetisation, the IMF said.

India GDP to grow at 7.2 per cent next fiscal: IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) foresees India’s economic growth to rebound to 7.2 per cent next fiscal, up from projected 6.6 per cent in 2016-17, post demonetisation.

Cabinet gives nod to India-Poland agricultural accord

The Union Cabinet has approved for signing an agreement between India and Poland on cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors.

  • The agreement will cover exchange of information between the two countries on various aspects, including health of crops, as per the international trade requirements and threats posed by harmful organisms and diseases of crops

Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu commissioned Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Shaunak’, built by Goa Shipyard Limited, in the port town of Vasco.

Government launches malware cleaning centre

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology launched a botnet and malware cleaning centre, which would help analyse malware and botnets. The cleaning centre will cost the exchequer around Rs 90 crore over a period of five years, but its services would be provided free of cost.

Civil aviation minister Gajapathi Raju launches SKYREV360

The Airports Authority of India in collaboration with IATA, has come out with a unique comprehensive e-billing solution comprising of data gathering, invoicing and collection called ”SKYREV360”.

  • This unique system is one of its kind and would help ANSP’s and Airport Operators world wide in avoiding revenue leakages, reducing redundancies, reduction in disputes, easy integration with all external systems and also help in curtailing the debt collection period to the minimum.

Suresh Prabhu unveils Antyodaya Express for common man

Equipped with cushioned seats, aluminium composite panels, and LED lights, the Antyodaya Express, a new fully unreserved train for the common man with specially designed colourful coaches was unveiled today by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

  • Ready to be pressed into service on busy routes, the first Antyodaya Express will be launched between Mumbai and Tatanagar, and the second will be between Ernakulam and Howrah shortly.

TN announces closure of 500 State-run liquor shops

The Karnataka Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Institut Aeronautique et Spatial (IAS), a non-profit organisation based in Toulouse, France, which is engaged in designing and implementing training solutions for professionals in the aeronautic and space sector.

The Kalimpong subdivision of the Darjeeling hills became the 21st district of West Bengal.

  • Kalimpong was once known for the Silk Route that passed through the region, connecting Nepal and Bhutan with the city.
  • Alipurduar was made the 20th district of the State made in June 2014.

Sonam Yudron, who belong to Arunachal Pradesh has become the first woman from the frontier state to become a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a central para-military force.

Justice Sapre appointed chairman of Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal

KVIC to make khadi Gaon in each state to promote rural products
