Yes Bank, Gupshup launch chatbot for loan products

Yes Bank partnered with Silicon Valley-based bot platform Gupshup to launch an artificial intelligence-powered banking chatbot ‘YES mPower’ that instantly gives information about loan products.

  • The ‘YES mPower’ bot is available through Facebook Messenger.

SIDBI signs MoU with LIC to promote startups and MSMEs

The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Life Insurance Corporation of India to supplement funds under its fund-of-funds operation that aims to provide venture capital for medium and small enterprises.


BankBazaar launches paperless mutual funds platform

Financial marketplace BankBazaar.com has launched paperless and presence-less mutual fund platform through OTP-based eKYC process to enable investors to evaluate, select and purchase products instantly.


Government’s helpline number 14444 for digital payments support launched

The government, in collaboration with telecom and IT industry, has launched a toll-free helpline – 14444 – to address consumer queries on digital payments. The helpline will address questions regarding various platforms, including the newly-launched Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM), eWallets, Aadhaar-enabled payment system and USSD.


Commerce Ministry launched of IPR Enforcement Toolkit for Police and IPR Awareness Campaign for Children

The Commerce & Industry Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman launched an IPR Enforcement Toolkit for Police today. The toolkit has been jointly prepared by Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). 

  • This toolkit will be a ready reckoner for police officials across the country in dealing with IP crimes, specifically Trade Marks counterfeiting and Copyrights piracy.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) administrative staff, under the supervision of chief executive officer (CEO) Rahul Johri, has taken over the day-to-day functioning of the board, two days after the removal of its president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke by the Supreme Court.

A new organ has been discovered hiding in plain sight inside the human body. Known as the mesentery, it was previously thought to be just a few fragmented structures in the digestive system.

  • But scientists have realised it is in fact one, continuous organ. Now there are 79 organs.

China launches longest bullet train

China launched its longest bullet train “Shangri-la of the World” from Kunming, capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province to Beijing, expanding its high speed train network to about 20,000 kms connecting almost all provinces.
