Detailed SBI PO 2021 Syllabus and Exam Pattern

Here we are sharing with you the detailed SBI PO
2021 Syllabus and Exam Pattern of SBI PO Prelims and Main 2020 Exam.

Prelims Exam will consist of Objective Tests for 100 marksĀ and there are 3 sections in it as: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English Language. The total time duration of the prelims exam is 1 hour.
SBI PO Prelims 2020 Exam Pattern:

There will be no sectional cut-off in the prelims exams.

Phase II or Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

(I) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consist of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. Ā Each section has different time limit. You cannot choose section of your own.Ā 

There will be no sectional cut-off in the mains exams.

(II)Ā Descriptive Test: The duration of Descriptive Test is 30 minutes. It will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) with two questions for total 50 marks.

Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary & Main Examination):
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
Sectional Marks will not be maintained for both Preliminary & Main Examinations.

The syllabus for SBI PO 2021 Exam is as:

Quantitative AptitudeĀ 

Though in the syllabus provided by SBI, only Data Interpretation and Analysis is written. But Data Interpretation is not only tabular or other charts (bar-graph, line chart, etc.). It means that some data is given and you have to analyze and interpret it to know the answers of the questions. So some other topics like time and work, profit/loss/discount, etc. can also be asked. Apart from this be prepared for calculative and time taking Data Interpretation questions in SBI PO exam.Ā 
Each year Probability topic is surely asked in SBI PO Data Interpretation and Analysis section. So Probability topic is expected this year also.

TheĀ syllabus of this section will be:

  • Data Interpretation (Tabular, Missing DI, Caselet, Bar Graph, Pie Chart, Line Graph, Radar Chart) based on miscellaneous topics like – Time and Work, Partnership, Profit and Loss, Mensuration, Simple/Compound interest, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Averages, etc.
  • Miscellaneous Questions (Word Problems) based on Partnership, Time and Work, Profit and Loss,Ā Mensuration,Ā Time Distance and Speed, Boats and Streams,Ā Simple/Compound interest,Ā Mixture and Alligation,Ā Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Averages, Problems on Ages, etc
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Probability
  • Inequalities (New Pattern)
  • Number Series
  • Simplification/Approximation (Prelims Only)
  • Quadratic Equations (Prelims Only)

Reasoning and Computer Aptitude

The Reasoning Section Questions and Computer Aptitude Questions will be asked in a single section. Do not confuse computer aptitude with computer awareness questions. Both are different. Computer Awareness will not be asked in the SBI PO Main Exam.

The syllabus of this section will be:

  • Puzzles and Seating Arrangements (Linear/Circular/Rectangle Arrangement, Boxes based, Floor based, Ā Blood Realtion arrangement, etc.)
  • Syllogism
  • Machine Input/Output
  • Coding/Decoding
  • Decision Making
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Inequalities
  • Miscellaneous like Blood Relation, Direction Sense, Ranking, etc
  • CriticalĀ Reasoning (Statement and Assumptions, Conclusions)
  • ComputerĀ Aptitude Questions

This section checks your thinking ability. How do you react to puzzled problems? This section always contains the unexpected questions with many puzzles and alike questions. In this section also you can expect lengthy puzzles and lengthy questions, so be prepared.

Descriptive

As told above, descriptive section will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) with two questions for total 50 marks.Ā
