  2. Amit purchased 50 kg sugar for Rs 1800 and sold the entire sugar at a loss of as much money as he would have got by selling 10 kg of sugar. At what price he sold the sugar?

    1. Rs 30

      Sol : Let Sp of 1 kg = x
      hence total SP=50x
      loss = 10x
      hence SP= 1800-10x=50x
      =>x=30

  3. The concentration of alcohol in three different diluted solutions is 1/2, 1/3, 1/2 respectively. If 3 litres, 6 litres and 1 litres are taken from these different vessels and mixed. What is the ratio of water and alcohol in the new mixture?

    1. 3:2

      sol:
      quantity of alcohol taken out from vessel 1 = 1/2*3=1.5 L
      alcohol from vessel 2=1/3*6 =2 L
      Alcohol from vessel 3 = 1/2*1 =0.5 L
      total alcohol =1.5+2+0.5 =4 litre
      total water = (3+6+1)-4=6 L
      ratio = 6:4 =3:2

  4. A boy on a vacation trip is told that he can bring at most 2 toys from his 5 toys. How many ways can the child choose the toys?

    1. 16

      sol => 5C0 +5C1 + 5C2 = 1 + 5 +10 =16

  5. 12 men can do a work in X days and 16 women can do the same work in (X + 8) days. The ratio of work done by 15 men and 12 women in the same time is 3 : 1. Find the value of X ?

    1. 10

      sol:
      ratio of time taken by 15 men and 12 women:
      15m/12w=1/3
      if 15 men do in 1 day then 12 women do in 3 days => 36 women do in 1 day
      => 15 men=36 women
      or 5 men=12 women —-(i)

      also 12 m-> X day
      and 16 w ->(X+ 8) day

      hence 12 m in X days hence 5 men in 12/5 X day –(ii)
      16 w in (X+8) days hence 12 women in 16/12(X+8) days —(iii)
      put ii and iii in eq i
      12/5 X =16/12 (X+8)
      get X=10

  6. A person P started from town X at 10am and went towards town Y. Another person Q started from Y at 12pm and went towards X. they met at 2pm. P reached his destination 20 min after Q did. At what time did Q reach his destination?

    1. KALYAN ADHYA

      nehi ban raha maam

    2. 4:40 PM

      Let speed of P=p Speed of Q=q Let the total distance be D Time travelled by P when it meets Q = 4 hours Time travelled by Q when it meet P = 2 hours
      Let Q travelled the distance XY in x hours hence P travelled it in x+2+1/3 hours = x+7/3 hours(since he starts 2 hours earlier)
      D=4p + 2q —-[i] D=p(x+7/3) = qx ———-[ii] using [i] and [ii] put value of p and q from [ii] in terms of D into equation [i]
      D= 4*D/ (x+7/3) + 2D/x
      =>3x^2 – 11x -14 = 0 on solving x=28/6 which means x=26/6 hours or 280 mins or 4 hour 40 mins hence Q reached his destination at 12 pm +4:40 i,e 4:40 pm

  8. In an election of 3 candidates a b and c, a gets 50% more votes than b. He also beats c by 240000. C beats b by 5% points .Find the number of votes polled.

    1. KALYAN ADHYA

      994540

    2. Let B=x A= 1.5x C=1.5x-240000 Hence total votes = x+1.5x+1.5x -240000 = 4x – 240000 —————-[i]
      As per question,
      3 | P a g e w w w . s t u d i o u s b a n k e r . c o m
      c-b vote= 5% of total votes hence 0.5x – 240000 = 5/100 * [4x -240000] x=760000
      Total vote = 4x -240000 =2800000

  9. A and B start a business, with A investing the total capital of Rs.50000, on the condition that B pays A interest @ 10% per annum on his half of the capital. A is a working partner and receives Rs.1500 per month from the total profit and any profit remaining is equally shared by both of them. At the end of the year, it was found that the income of A is twice that of B. Find the total profit for the year?

    1. KALYAN ADHYA

      iska solution kya hoga maam

    2. Interest received by A from B = 10% of half of Rs.50000 = 10% of Rs. 25000 = Rs.2500. Amount received by A per annum for being a working partner = 1500 x 12 = Rs.18000
      5 | P a g e w w w . s t u d i o u s b a n k e r . c o m
      Let ‘P’ be the part of the remaining profit that A receives as his share. So,total income of A = (Rs.2500 + Rs.18000 + Rs. P ) Total income of B = only his share from the remaining profit = ‘P’, as A and B share the remaining profit equally. We know that income of A = Twice the income of B So, (2500 + 18000 + P ) = 2(P) P = 20500 Thus, the total profit = 2P + Rs.18000 = 2(20500) + 18000 = Rs.59000

  36. Thanks for the strategies you have contributed here. Furthermore, I believe there are a few factors that keep your insurance premium all the way down. One is, to think about buying motors that are inside good list of car insurance businesses. Cars which have been expensive will be more at risk of being lost. Aside from that insurance is also in line with the value of your car or truck, so the higher in price it is, then the higher this premium you spend.
