1. Maelstrom (noun) – A situation or state of confused movement or violent turmoil.

  • Synonyms: Tumult, Pandemonium, Bedlam, Confusion, Disorder, Commotion
  • Antonyms: Calm, Tranquility, Serenity, Placidity, Composure, Accord
  • Usage: Because there were so many flowers at the wedding reception, the hall was a maelstrom of color, fragrance, and sneezing.

2. Semblance (noun) – The outward appearance or apparent form of something, especially when the reality is different.

8. Smattering (noun) – A small amount of something.

9. Cauldron (noun) – A situation characterized by instability and strong emotions.
