1. Spectacularly (adverb) – In a dramatic and eye- catching way.

  • Synonyms: Infamously, Notably, Especially
  • Antonyms: Normally, Ordinarily
  • Usage: The Company’s new policies were spectacularly failed as the revenue was decreased substantially after the implementation.

2. Impregnable (adjective) – Unable to be captured or broken into.

  • Synonyms: Invulnerable, Impenetrable, Unattackable, Unassailable, Inviolable, Secure, Strong, Safe
  • Antonyms: Breakable, Destrucible
  • Usage: During the battle, the soldiers were unable to breach the impregnable castle walls.

3. Expediency (noun) – The quality of being suitable to the circumstances to avail them.

4. Cavalier (adjective) – Showing a lack of proper concern.

5. Abstruse (adjective) – Difficult to understand.

  • Antonyms: Decent, Ethical, Fair, Frank, Good, Honest
  • Usage: The unscrupulous teacher offered to raise her student’s grade if he gave her one hundred dollars.

7. Rout (noun) – A defeat of an individual, army, group, or team.

  • Synonyms: Debacle, Defeat, Retreat
  • Antonyms: Triumph, Win, Victory
  • Usage: After the dictator’s rout, the people finally had control of their country.

8. Obeisance (noun) – Deferential respect/ a respectful obedient attitude.

  • Synonyms: Respect, Homage, Adoration, Reverence, Veneration, Respectfulness
  • Antonyms: Censure, Condemnation, Disdain, Dishonor, Disregard, Disrespect
  • Usage: The young girl showed obeisance when she bowed before the queen.

9. Enfeeble (verb) – To deprive of strength.

  • Synonyms: Weaken, Cripple, Debilitate, Disable
  • Antonyms: Enable, Encourage, Strengthen
  • Usage: The result of SSC exam made his preparation enfeebled for upcoming exams.

10. Avowed (adjective) – That has been asserted, admitted or stated publicly.

  • Synonyms: Professed, Accepted, Acknowledged, Admitted, Affirmed
  • Antonyms: Refused, Denied
  • Usage: After losing four matches in five match series, the captain avowed series defeat of his team.
