English: Inference Based Questions (New Pattern)

In each of the given questions an inference is given in bold which is then followed by three paragraph. You have to find the paragraph(s) from where it is inferred. Choose the option with the best possible outcome as your choice.

  1. Inference – City in shambles

    I. There are approximately 650 cities in India, having population more than one lakh, where the government is obligated to provide proper sanitation, drainage, healthcare system etc in an adequate manner.
    II. The cities now, epitomize areas wherein the inhabitants whether rich or poor, are bound to face the scourges of exploding population,air pollution,contaminated water sources,intolerable noise, and inadequate transport system.

  3. Inference – Sports as an empowerment tool

    I. Sports provides a supportive environment for girls to learn a new skill, develop self-confidence and better understand their bodies, health and capabilities.   7. Inference – High voter turnout – a significant indicator

    I. The argument is that anti-incumbency, which usually manifests itself as anger among voters, encourages more people to cast votes.

    II. It’s not just the administration who’s responsible for poor traffic standards but the common masses as well who disregard rules and take for granted the facilities and infrastructure they enjoy.
    III. It is already a huge challenge for the Indian government to provide world-class roads, due to the sheer magnitude. To add to it, India has to spend almost around Rs20,000 to Rs30,000 crore on the maintenance of roads every year.
