  1. Swindler – person who cheats another

    • Synonyms: charlatan, con artist, counterfeiter, crook, absconder, chiseler

  4. Sanctify – set apart as or declare holy

    • Synonyms: anoint, ordain, canonize, beatify, consecrate, absolve
    • Antonyms: condemn, degrade, desecrate, disrespect
    • Usage: A small shrine was built to sanctify the site
  5. Elude – escape from or avoid

    • Synonyms: baffle, confound, dodge, bilk, evade, circumvent
    • Antonyms: clarify, encourage, enlighten
    • Usage: He tried to elude the security men by sneaking through a back door
  6. Capricious – given to sudden behavior change

    • Synonyms: mercurial, volatile, erratic, vacillating, fitful, arbitrary, whimsical
    • Antonyms: cautious, constant, predictable
    • Usage: Because of his capricious nature, she found it hard to keep a steady job.
  7. Firmament – the heavens or sky.

  8. Extraneous – unneeded, irrrelevant

    • Usage: The extraneous noise from the street was keeping us awake all night, so we moved to a different apartment.
  9. Sway – control or influence

    • Synonyms: clout, amplitude, authority, command, predominance
    • Antonyms: inability, inefficiency
    • Usage: He’s easily swayed by other people
  10. Cynical – doubt, distrust

    • Synonyms: bitterness, distrust, doubt, pessimism, sarcasm
    • Antonyms: belief, certainty, confidence
    • Usage: She is a cynical woman who does not trust anyone.
