Directions (1-3): H is brother of A. F is son of A. E is sister of B. G is Brother of F and son of B. C is married to D. F is grandson of D. C is not father of H.

1. How is D related to A?
A) father
B) mother
C) mother-in-law
D) None of these
E) Cannot be determined
Option E
Solution:
H is brother of A. F son of A and G brother of A. Also G son of B. So A and B are married have sons F and G. Gender of A and B is not known. Next E is sister of B. C and D are married  and F grandson of them. So C and D can be parents of either A or B. So how is D related to A – Cannot be determined
2. If P is sister of H and daughter of C, how is C related to B?
A) father-in-law
B) mother
C) mother-in-law
D) A or C
E) B or C
Option D
Solution:
P is sister of H means sister of A also, She is daughter of C, so C is mother/father of A. So C is mother-in-law/father-in-law of B
3. If E has only 1 sibling and that is her sister, then how is A related to E?
A) sister-in-law
B) nephew
C) brother-in-law

E has only 1 sibling so B is E’s sister – gives B is female, so A is male, hence is brother-in-law of E.

Point E is 10 m to the south of point F. Point G is 13 m to the north of point H. Point D is 8 m to the south of point C. Point H is 8 m to the east of point I.

1. What is the direction of point A with respect to point I?

A) Two
B) Three
C) One
D) Five
E) Four
Option C
Solution:
Horizontal distance = ((DE – BC) + FG) – HI = ((12-6)+4)-8) = 2 m
Vertical distance = ((CD+GH)-FE) = (8+13)-10 = 11 m
So BI = Hypotenuse = √(22 + 112) = √125 = 5√5 m

Directions (6-7): Seven friends – A, B, C, D, E, F, and G have different weights. C is heavier than D but lighter than G. E is lighter than D but not lightest. A is heavier than B but lighter than F. F is heavier than C.

B) D
C) F

A) 22
B) 20
C) 23
