    5
    3
    6
    Option E
    (600% of 74.99)/44.98 = ?^2 – (675.99)^2
    => ?^2 – 26 = 450/45
    => ?^2 = 10+26
    => ?^2 = 36
    => ? = 6

  4. ?% of 1199.9 = 50.01% of 359.9 + 239.8% of 49.9
    20
    14
    18
    25
    22
    Option D
    ?% of 1199.9 = 50.01% of 359.9 + 239.8% of 49.9
    => ?% of 1200 = 50% of 360 + 240% of 50
    => ? *12 = 180+120
    => ? = 25

  5. 33.33% of 119.99 = 29.98% of 209.9 – ?

    12
    10
    23
    Option E
    33.33% of 119.99 = 29.98% of 209.9 – ?
    => 30% of 210 = 30% of 210 – ?
    => 63 – 40 = ?
    => ? = 23

  6. Pipes A and B can fill a tank individually in 20 hours and 30 hours resp. The tank is filled in “t” hours if both the pipes are opened alternatively for one hour each starting with pipe A. Find the value of t.
    24 hours
    30 hours
    25 hours
    15 hours
    20 hours
    Option A
    The capacity of the tank = 60(LCM)
    Water filled by A in one hour = 60/20 = 3 hours
    Water filled by B in one hour = 60/30 = 2 hours
    Tank filled in 2 hours = 3+2 = 5 hours
    Time take in both pipes alternatively = 60/5*2 = 24 hours

  7. A train crosses a pole in 9 seconds and a platform x m long in 26 seconds. Find the value of x if the speed of the train is 72 km/hr.
    350 m
    340 m
    400 m
    280 m
    300 m
    Option B
    Speed of the train 72*5/18 = 20 m/s
    Length of the train = 20*9 = 180 m
    Let the length of the platform be x m.
    180+x = 20*26
    => x = 340 m

  8. A boat goes 92 km upstream and comes back downstream to its original place in overall 16 hours. The speed of boat in still water is x km/hr. Find the value of x if the speed of stream is 3 km/hr.
    15 km/hr.
    13 km/hr.
    8 km/hr.
    10 km/hr.
    12 km/hr.
    Option E
    Let speed of boat in still water be x km/hr.
    90/(x+3)+ 90/(x-3) = 16
    => 180x = (x^2 – 9)*16
    => 4x^2 – 45x – 36 = 0
    => (4x+3)(x-12) = 0
    => x = 12,-3/4
    So, the value of x = 12 km/hr.

  9. A cricket player has an average of x runs after 10 matches. He scored 90 runs in his 11th match due to which the average of his runs becomes (x+7) in the 11 matches. Find his average runs in the 11 matches.
    18
    14
    20
    21
    19
    Option C
    Let average runs after 10 matches be x.
    10x+90 = 11(x+7)
    => x = 13
    Average runs after 11th match
    = 13+7 = 20

  10. A bag contains 5 red, 4 blue and x number of brown balls. If two balls are randomly drawn from the bag then the probability that both the balls are of brown color is 1/7. Find the valus of x.
    10
    6
    8
    12
    14
    Option B
    Probability that the balls are brown
    Now,xC2/(x+9)C2 = 1/7
    => x(x-1)/(x+9)(x+8) = 1/7
    =>6x^2 – 24x – 72 = 0
    => (x+2)(x-6) = 0
    => x = 6,-2
    So, value of x = 6 balls
