    15 == 24,000
    1 == Rs1600 loss

    A) 80km
    B) 60km
    C) 50km
    D) 70km
    E) 90km
    View Answer
    Option D
    Solution:
    speed ratio- 35 : 40
    .                     7 : 8
    time ratio- 8 : 7
    .                 (+1)=15
    8=120min
    So 35*2hr= 70km
  4. A sum becomes 8000 in 2yrs and 1600 in 4yrs at compound interest. Find the sum (in Rs)?
    A) 4000
    B) 6000
    C) 7000
    D) 5600
    E) 5000
    View Answer
    Option A
    Solution:
    In this case when difference between time period is same then
    x : y = y : z
    x/8000 = 8000/16000
    x= 4000
  5. If a student gets 30% marks in an examination then he passes by 10 marks and if he gets 35% marks then he passes by 30 marks . find how many marks he needs to pass?

    C) 120
    D) 110
    E) 150
    View Answer
    Option D
    Solution:
    (+10)……..(+30)
    30%………..35%
    35-30 = 5%
    5% = 20
    1% = 4
    30% = 120
    Pass marks = 120-10 =110
  6. Two person A & B walk from P to Q at a distance of 38km at 8kmph and 11kmph respectively. B reaches Q and returns immediately and meets A at R. find the distance from P to R?
    A) 36km
    B) 34km
    C) 32km
    D) 30km
    E) 38km
    View Answer
    Option C
    Solution:
    in this case both A and B cover double distance together, so time taken by them
    2*38/(8+11)= 4hrs
    So distance from P to R = 8*4 = 32kmph
  7. A & B invest 10,000 and 11,000 respectively in a scheme. After 6months A withdrawal 20% of his investment and B add 9(1/11)% of his investment. If after one year their profit is rs8200. Find the share of B ?
    A) Rs3600

    C) Rs3000
    D) Rs5200
    E) Rs4000
    View Answer
    Option B
    Solution:
    10000        11000
    .          10 : 11
    .          *6 *6
    .          60 66……………………..(1)
    A = 10000 – 2000= 8000
    B = 11000+ 1000 = 12000
    8000 : 12000
    8 : 12
    *6 *6
    48 72………………………………………..(2)
    Add (1) and (2)
    60+48= 108
    66+72= 138
    108 : 138
    18 : 23
    B’s share = 23/41 *8200 =4600
  8. A and B separately complete a piece of work in 25days and 40days respectively. They worked together for some time then A left the work. If B completed the remaining work in 14days, then A worked for?

    C) 14days
    D) 8days
    E) 13days
    View Answer
    Option B
    Solution:
    A = 25……..8
    B = 40………5………….(LCM=200)
    A+B = 13
    B’s 14 days work = 5*14= 70
    Means A&B together done 130 work, so together they do 13 work in a day….so 130/13=10days
  9. A rectangular sheet with dimensions 22m*10m is rolled into a cylinder so that the smaller side becomes the height of the cylinder. What is the volume of the cylinder so formed ?
    A) 385m²
    B) 375m²
    C) 365m²
    D) 355m²
    E) 395m²
    View Answer
    Option A
    Solution:
    According to method
    Volume = H *(other side)²/4∏
    = 10*(22)²/(4*22/7)
    = 385m²
    Best approach .. see ANS will be divisible by 11. So our ANS is A
  10. Find the volume of a cylinder which has height of 14m and a base of radius 3m. also find the curved surface of the cylinder?
    A) 392m³,262m²
    B) 396m³,264m²
    C) 398m³,274m²
    D) 399m³,276m²
    E) 399m³,226m²
    View Answer
    Option B
    Solution:
    ANS will be divisible by 11.
    See …. 396..
    Add alternate number and subtract the solution with middle number..
    3+6=9
    9 -9 =0
    If the difference is 0 or multiple of 11 then it is divisible of 11.

    In que no 1.
    the loss pecent will be (X/10)^2 .
    and if we calculate by putting X=25 , the ans will be 750.
    kindly correct me i m wrong.

      cp——-p/l——sp
      4——–+1———5
      4———(-1)——-3
      make sp equal and add
      =>30 =24000—(sp)
      =>32=25600–(cp)
      =>loss =1600

      1. $IGi_2CoVeRT $tRiKe$

        okk in that also same ans is coming…:)

      2. $IGi_2CoVeRT $tRiKe$

        bhai sabi method se ek hi ans aa rha h
        see here
        common loss =(25)^2/100 =6.25% loss
        =>6.25% =6.25/100
        =>loss =6.25,cp =100 =>sp =93.75
        now 93.75 =24000
        =>100 =25600
        =>loss =1600

      answer is coming different

    1. Marry..

      height of cylinder, h=10
      Circumference of the base of cylinder = 2πr=22
      2 × (22/7) × r = 22
      r=7/2
      Volume of cylinder = πr2h
      22/7*7/2*7/2*10====385

    Mam…..Best approach .. see ANS will be divisible by 11, Explain that line in answer 9 n 10

    1. $IGi_2CoVeRT $tRiKe$

      short trick as the ans has 22 in it so it can b divisible by 11…not applied in all cases if all options r the muliple of 11 then go by basic….:)

  5. Alice

    Q9/10
    what’s the logic behind divisible by 11?
    applicable for cylinder only?
    why divisibility by 11 is being checked?
    @shubra ma’am

    1. Pie = 2*11 = 22
      Every even number will be divided by 2. So we check by 11 of this pie to know the answer..

    sir is this approach valid for all cases of cylinder?
    @Suraj

    1. Pie = 2*11 = 22
      Every even number will be divided by 2. So we check by 11 of this pie to know the answer

        but simple mn to ans hi nhi aa rha as 2 years ka amt and si dono similar aa rhe h means p=0 mam???

        1. $IGi_2CoVeRT $tRiKe$

          if si is considerd then
          8000 =p+si (2yrs)——(1)
          16000 =p + si(4yrs)—-(2)
          2-1
          =>si (2yrs) =8000
          now amt (2yrs) =8000
          =>p =8000 -8000 =0
          yeh aa rha mam whrn considered as si…:(
