Directions (1 – 5): Read the following information carefully and answer the questions given below it:

Ten friends P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X and Y are going for a trip on either 8th or 22nd of months of May, June, July, September and October but not necessarily in the same order. They took a bus journey to their destination from their hometown and each took different time to reach their destination. Friends taking consecutive number of hours did not travel on consecutive turns. A friend taking odd number of hours travelled in a month with odd number of days and a person taking even number of hours travelled in a month with even number of days and consider the year to be 2018.
P took 33 hours to reach its destination. P and W had their journey at a gap of two persons. Number of persons who travelled after Y was one more than the number of persons who travelled before W. Y travelled after W. T and U travelled at a gap of one person and U took 7 hours more than that taken by T to reach the destination. P and U took consecutive number of hours. Y and R travelled in consecutive months but not on consecutive turns. R took 8 hours less than that taken by S who travelled on 22nd July. Journey taken on 8th June was of 32 hours. Q took 36 hours to complete his journey. Q and X travelled at a gap of two persons. V took 19 hours to reach his destination. X travelled at a gap of one person from the one who took a journey of 29 hours. W took 2 hours less than that taken by S who took less than 30 hours to complete his journey. The person travelling on 22nd June took 24 hours to complete his journey. R and Y took consecutive number of hours.

    5. V took 19 hours to reach his destination.

    6. X travelled at a gap of one person from the one who took a journey of 29 hours.

    R took 8 hours less than that taken by S who travelled on 22nd July. W took 2 hours less than that taken by S who took less than 30 hours to complete his journey.
    Hence, S took 29 hours to complete its journey. R took 21 hours and W took 27 hours to complete its journey.

    7. R and Y took consecutive number of hours. Friends taking consecutive number of hours did not travel on consecutive turns. T and U travelled at a gap of one person and U took 7 hours more than that taken by T to reach the destination.

    Hence, T took 25 hours to reach the destination.

    Hence, S took 29 hours to reach its destination.

    6. Direction (6 – 10): Study the following information carefully to answer the given questions:

    There are seven persons A, B, C, D, E, F and G living in a building with 24 floors and the topmost floor is numbered as 24. No two persons live on the same floor. They live on floor numbers 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 24 but not necessarily in the same order. Rest all the floors are empty. They all have different ages viz. 10, 13, 15, 18, 19, 17 and 24 but not necessarily in the same order. They all are related to G in some way.
    The one who is 17 years old does not live on an odd numbered floor. D is brother – in – law of G and has no siblings. Only two persons lives below E’s floor. No one is older than C who has six empty floors above his floor. Neither E nor C is sister of G. G’s mother is married to neither E nor F. Difference between the ages of B and E is less than 4 years. B has more than 10 empty floors below his floor. Only two persons lives above D. B is either daughter or daughter – in – law of G’s mother. G lives on one of the floors above A. A is grandson of G’s father. Difference between the age and floor number of F is same as the difference between the age and floor number of D and the difference is not an even number. A is the son of neither G nor B. D is not married to B. E is as much older than G as B is younger than G. F is not the youngest.

    Solution:

    1. No one is older than C who has six empty floors above his floor. Only two persons lives below E’s floor. Only two persons live above D.

    2. B has more than 10 empty floors below his floor.
    3. Difference between the ages of B and E is less than 4 years. E is as much older than G as B is younger than G.
    Hence, E is one year older than G and G is one year older than B.
    Hence, E is 19 years old, G is 18 years old and B is 17 years old.

    4. Difference between the age and floor number of F is same as the difference between the age and floor number of D and the difference is not an even number. F is not the youngest.
    Hence, floor of D is 16 and age of D is 15 years. Floor of F is 14 and age of F is 13 years.
    5. G lives on one of the floors above A.
    G is 18 years old.

    6. D is brother – in – law of G and has no siblings. B is either daughter or daughter – in – law of G’s mother. A is grandson of G’s father. A is the son of neither G nor B.
    Hence, B is wife of G and A is son of D.

    7. Neither E nor C is sister of G. G’s mother is married to neither E nor F. D is not married to B.
    Hence, F is sister of G, E is mother of G and C is father of G.

    Hence, F’ son is grandson of C.
