    Let person 1 can finish the whole work in x days.
    Person 2 can finish the same work in 3x days.
    then 3x-x= 2x= 30
     x= 15 days
     Person 1 can finish the work in 15 days.

     A+B work = 1/15 + 1/45 = 4/45
     A+B can finish the work in 45/4 = 11 ¼ days

     

  2. 32 men and 24 women together can complete a work in 16 days. 40 men can complete the same work in 32 days.How many days will 32 women can complete the same work ?

    Hence 32 women complete the same work in 20 days.
