Constituency is an area whose voters elect a representative to a legislative body. In India, each state is divided into a number of constituencies and after  the Lok Sabha Elections, the winners from those constituencies become the Member of Parliament. Like during the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Sh. Raj Nath Singh won from his constituency Lucknow in UP.
There are also Union Ministers who are not elected to the Lok Sabha by us like Smt. Smriti Irani. She lose the Lok Sabha Elections from her constituency Amethi in UP. She is elected to Rajya Sabha from Gujarat, so she is member of parliament from Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is Member of Parliament (MP) from constituency – Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. He is in-charge of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy; Department of Space; and All important policy issues; and All other portfolios not allocated to any Minister.
