Direction (71-80): Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow.
Recent years have brought minority-owned businesses in the United States unprecedented opportunities-as well as new and significant risks. Civil rights activists have long argued that one of the principal reasons why Blacks, Hispanics and the other minority groups have difficulty establishing themselves in business is that they lack access to the sizable orders and subcontracts that are generated by large companies. Now congress, in apparent agreement, has required by law that businesses awarded federal contracts of more than $500,000 do their best to find minority subcontractors and record their efforts to do so on forms field with the government. Indeed, some federal and local agencies have gone so far as to set specific percentage goals for apportioning parts of public works contracts to minority enterprises.
Corporate response appears to have been substantial. According to figures collected in 1977, the total of corporate contracts with minority business rose from $77 in 1972 to $1. 1 billion in 1977. The projected total of corporate contracts with minority business for the early 1980’s is estimated to be over $3 billion per year with no letup anticipated in the next decade.
Promising as it is for minority businesses, this increased patronage poses dangers for them, too. First, minority firms risk expanding too fast and overextending themselves financially, since most are small concerns and, unlike large businesses they often need to make substantial investments in new plants, staff, equipment, and the like in order to perform work subcontracted to them. If, thereafter, their subcontracts are for some reason reduced, such firms can face potentially crippling fixed expenses. The world of corporate purchasing can be frustrating for small entrepreneurs who get requests for elaborate formal estimates and bids. Both consume valuable time and resources and a small company’s efforts must soon result in orders, or both the morale and the financial health of the business will suffer.
A second risk is that White-owned companies may-seek to cash in on the increasing apportionments through formation of joint ventures with minority-owned concerns. Of course, in many instances there are legitimate reasons for joint ventures; clearly, white and minority enterprises can team up to acquire business that neither could acquire alone. But civil rights groups and minority business owners have complained to Congress about minorities being setup as “fronts” with White backing, rather than being accepted as full partners in legitimate joint ventures.
Third, a minority enterprise that secures the business of one large corporate customer often runs the danger of becoming – and remaining dependent. Even in the best of circumstances, fierce competition from larger, more established companies makes it difficult for small concerns to broaden their customer bases; when such firms have nearly guaranteed orders from a single corporate benefactor, they may truly have to struggle against complacency arising from their current success.

Direction (96-100) Rearrange the given sentences to form a meaningful passage and answer the questions that follows.
1) Western analysts focus on the relative decline of the U.S. ratherthan on Asia’s re-emergence.
2) Till 1750, the Asian giants produced half of global economic output before gunboats and colonisation reshaped trade, and subsequently production and consumption.
3) The implication of the interruption, or reversal, has not been explored as the strategic dimensions continue to be seen through a Western prism.
4) while not addressing the question that has now come centre stage — who sets the worlds standards and for what purpose?
5) The underlying assumption is that the world needs global institutions, rules and agreements to solve problems that countries cannot solve on their own.
6) There is now a consensus that the locus of global wealth is again going to be in Asia.
Question: Which of the following is the FIRST sentence after rearrangement?
Correct
The correct sequence is: 2, 6, 3, 1, 5, 4
Point 2 is the starting sentence. It tells that till 1750 what used to happen in Asia – it used to produce half of global economic output. Means after 1750, the growth of Asia declined. Next that what used to happen till 1750 is back again. New consensus says this….. point 6. Point 3 says that, this interruption that came in Asia is not being explored by western analysts. But they are more interested in what is happening in US rather than the re-emergence of Asia. So point No 1
Now the closing of paragraph tells – what actually needs to be done which is in point 5 – what the world needs ………. Next how it should be implemented? By not questioning irrelevant questions – who sets the worlds standards and for what purpose?

This is because the software program operated by means of these processor chips will inevitably surge in power to make use of the new technological know-how.

You can also purchase the international holiday insurance policy on the internet by using the credit card. Everything you need to do is always to enter your travel specifics and you can be aware of the plans side-by-side. Just find the program that suits your financial budget and needs after which it use your credit card to buy it. In accordance with my observation, after a in foreclosure process home is available at a sale, it is common for your borrower to be able to still have a remaining balance on the personal loan. There are many loan merchants who try and have all rates and liens paid off by the following buyer. Nonetheless, depending on particular programs, laws, and state legislation there may be some loans which aren’t easily sorted out through the exchange of lending products. Therefore, the duty still falls on the customer that has got his or her property in foreclosure. Thank you sharing your opinions on this website.

Thanks for your text. I would love to say that the health insurance brokerage service also works well with the benefit of the actual coordinators of the group insurance policy. The health insurance professional is given a long list of benefits wanted by an individual or a group coordinator. Exactly what a broker does indeed is try to find individuals or even coordinators which best match those desires. There is a fair bit of time that this bank will require payments from time to time. If you are very deep inside hole, they’re going to commonly demand that you pay the payment entirely. However, that doesn’t mean that they will not take any sort of payments at all. In case you and the loan company can find a way to work something out, your foreclosure procedure may cease. Great post right here. One thing I’d like to say is the fact most professional fields consider the Bachelor Degree just as the entry level standard for an online diploma. Although Associate Diplomas are a great way to begin, completing the Bachelors reveals many doors to various professions, there are numerous on-line Bachelor Diploma Programs available via institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another concern is that many brick and mortar institutions offer Online editions of their certifications but usually for a considerably higher price than the providers that specialize in online degree programs.
Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I’m very glad to see such great info being shared freely out there.

However, should you continue to miss out on payments underneath the new system, the home foreclosure process can just pick up where it was left off.

In accordance with my observation, after a foreclosed home is marketed at a bidding, it is common for your borrower to be able to still have some sort ofthat remaining balance on the financial loan. There are many loan companies who aim to have all costs and liens paid back by the upcoming buyer. On the other hand, depending on selected programs, polices, and state legislation there may be quite a few loans that are not easily fixed through the shift of lending products. Therefore, the obligation still lies on the customer that has acquired his or her property in foreclosure process. Thank you sharing your ideas on this website.

I’ve really noticed that fixing credit activity should be conducted with techniques. If not, chances are you’ll find yourself endangering your ranking. In order to reach your goals in fixing to your credit rating you have to make sure that from this instant you pay your entire monthly fees promptly before their planned date. It is really significant simply because by never accomplishing that area, all other methods that you will decide to use to improve your credit rating will not be successful.
