explanation for the last puzzle
The number of people staying on the odd number floors is an odd number but the number is not the same. So it is clear that on 1st or 3rd floor, the number of persons either 1 or 3.
Case 1:
If on the 1st floor 3 persons live and on 3rd floor 1 person live than we also know that No two consecutive floors have same number of occupants. So it is clear 2nd and 4th floor the number of persons will be 2, otherwise it will have the same number on two consecutive floor.
The number of people living on the floor of R is same as that of S. S lives on a floor higher compared to R so S must live on 4th and R must live on 2nd. P lives on a floor higher compared to W but a lower floor compared to T. P doesn’t live on an even numbered floor. So P must live on 3rd floor and T must live on 4th floor. W lives either 1st or 2nd floor. U doesn’t live on the same floor with R also not with P and 4th floor is already full so U must live on 1st floor. V lives on a floor higher compared to U So V must live on 2nd floor. Thus all the floors are occupied except 1st so other two persons Q and W must live on 1st floor but we know that Q and U do not live on the same floor so this case get rejected.
Case 2:
If on the 1st floor 1 person live and on 3rd floor 3 person live. The number of people living on the floor of R is same as that of S.
